No enrollment / election changes to your benefits are allowed during the plan year, unless you have a qualifying life event (such as marriage, birth of child, divorce, dependent loss of coverage, etc.).
Qualifying Life Events and Your Medical Coverage Changes
To change your medical coverage as a result of a Qualified Life Event, please contact State Health Benefit Plan at 1-800-610-1863 or process your changes on the enrollment portal at https://myshbpga.adp.com/shbp/.
Once you complete your benefit changes, ADP / SHBP will contact you via mail or email to inform you of the documentation requirements. You must submit appropriate documentation as required by ADP / SHBP in the format requested by the deadline to ensure your change is completed.
Please refer to the State Health Benefit Plan Decision Guide located at http://dch.georgia.gov/state-health-benefit-plan-shbp for additional details regarding qualifying life events.
If you wish to change your dental, vision, FSA, voluntary term life insurance, critical illness, accident, group legal, and/or identity theft benefits as a result of a qualifying life event, please contact the Benefits Service Center at 1-855-481-1489. You may complete your updated elections via phone with a Benefits Specialist, and you will receive an updated Confirmation Statement confirming your elections once the event is approved.
